Bhimtal Lake
The freshwater lake Bhimtal is found within Bhimtal town, which stands at 22 kilometres from Nainital in Uttarakhand's Kumaon region. The lake received its name from the Mahabharata character Bhima and stands as the largest district water body as well as one of Uttarakhand's most popular lakes. The lake rests at 1,370 meters above sea level and features boating activities along with nature walks and stunning panoramic views that come from its surrounding hills.
